Nicholson

Dr. Scott Nicholson is a faculty member at the Syracuse University school of Information Studies. He's worked as a librarian, computer specialist, statistician, and data miner. His first area of scholarly research was Web search tools, which is where much of the information came for AskScott. His current research focus is Bibliomining, i.e. data mining for libraries. |

Using her shiny new diploma from
Syracuse University, Lyn has landed the
plum job of Librarian at North Pole Middle School. This is her 12th year
as a school library media specialist in Alaska. She is a third generation
League of Women Voters member. As a small child, she remembers attending
meetings with her grandmother and mother. For most of her adult life

Janis is an MLS student hoping to find a reference position in a public library. Her particular areas of interest in library science are classification theory, indexing & abstracting, and cataloging. Her work experience has consisted mostly of administrative jobs in corporate settings, including lots of document control for maintaining ISO standards (very Dilbertian stuff). Her B.S. degree is in biology, and her personal interests include fine arts, literature, and popular music. |

Suzanne Myers Harold received her Master of Library Science degree from Syracuse University in August 2002. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and daughter, Eleri, who was born December 29, 2002. Suzanne's librarian studies focused on services to children and young adults, and she wastes most of her free time watching reality TV and reading angst-ridden young adult novels. | |

Kirsten is currently pursuing her MSLIS at Syracuse University. She lives and works in Ithaca NY, where she is the Access Services Supervisor at the Physical Sciences Library at Cornell University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Earlham College in 2000. |

Veronica has a BA in Social Sciences and is working toward an MSLIS with a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Digital Libraries at Syracuse University. She currently provides Readers’ Advisory services for the Las Vegas Clark County Library District. In her free time she enjoys making creative art messes and taking classes in art history, studio art, and architectural design from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. |

Angela is currently a student in a Library Science/Information
Management student at Syracuse University. She holds a BSc in Agriculture
and an MSc in Food Science and Technology from The University of the West
Indies (UWI). She has worked as a para-professional at The Main Library
at UWI. Her current interest is in Information Systems and she hopes to
follow in this career path after graduating in August 2003. |

Since 2000, Beth has been an information architect in a corporate environment, spending most of her time on various web development projects and helping to evaluate, select, configure, and maintain the intranet search engine. She will receive her MSLIS degree from Syracuse University in June of 2006, and plans to continue to embrace her geek tendencies within special library or IT-related settings. She and her husband live with their four cats in Massachusetts. |

Mary Saso is a school librarian at two elementary schools in Ottawa, Canada. She has just completed her MLS degree from Syracuse University. Her intersts include art, children’s literature, canoeing, cross-country skiing and hanging out with four kids when they return from university. (They really do grow up eventually!!) |

Matt was graduated in 1992 from the University of Denver with a BA in English. He earned a Masters from the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto in 1993. He is currently working on his Masters in Library and Information Science at Syracuse University. He lives in South Euclid, Ohio, and works at a public library as a paraprofessional. He worked for nine years in the information industry as an indexer/abstractor. He is also a fiction writer. |
